Low action, versatile D'Marzio pickups (PAF and Super Distortion), solid tuners, a lightweight body and thin neck (how I like them), I couldn't have had a much better guitar to learn on. After the internet came along, I looked it up and was pleased to find that I didn't know how good I had it all those years. Since it was my first and only guitar at the time, I had no idea if it was any good in comparison to the others out there. Back when I bought it I tried to find pictures of one in a guitar book (didn't have internet back then) and the closest I could come was a cross between an SG and an LP. The Standard was my only guitar for 20 years. The only thing I had to do to this guitar in 30 years was re-solder the input leads. Never played guitar in my life,as I always found my fingers to clumsy to play anything other than the bass. Years ago, when I was working out of Renton, WA, I came across a BEAUTIFUL solid mahogany body LP copy. That's how I first learned about Matsumoku guitars. However, I have the luxury of being a Pawnbroker. I'll be the first to say that I am a novice at guitar. How's everyone doing? Nice to find a forum where MIJ's can be appreciated.
